The plans will also see the bus service terminate at the Centre in Bristol, leaving local bus passengers having to get a second bus for journeys onto Hartcliffe and Bedminister.

Craig stood on a platform of saving local bus services cuts, improved cleansing at the Willows shopping centre and reducing rat run traffic. We also heard directly from Downend residents their anger at rising taxes and household bills. Many local residents expressed surprise that the Tory run Council failed to put forward a candidate, maybe they did not want to have to explain why their Parliamentary Candidate voted to downgrade Frenchay?

The ceremony was organised by St Chad's and Patchway Baptist Church with a number of other local Churches. We were all made to feel very welcome by those in attendance and it was a brilliant sunny and warm Sunday afternoon.

Knowing that the Lib Dems want their Cllrs to speak up for their communities, she joined us.

John says that whilst he welcomes calls led by the Lib Dems to buy up some of the surplus new houses being built, he also wants to see some of the £50 billion 'earmarked' for the banks to be used to support homeowners in danger of losing their homes. John adds "Its far better for those facing the prospect of defaulting on their mortgages to get some financial help to save them from eviction. I am sure that it will be cheaper in the long run and keep families and communities together. With 1.7m families already waiting for social housing, Labour have failed to make available significant numbers of public rented houses for those in need. I hope that the Government will act on my suggestion to save a lot of mortgage misery."

Sandra is a keen supporter of this charity and wanted to play her part in raising money for their work in supporting women. Well done to Sandra and all the others who took part in this important event!
